If you happen to be around Chicago on a Tuesday morning and fancy some tunes to entertain the little ones, the Old Town School of Folk Music is doing their thing at 10 a.m. Think kid-friendly songs, moving about, a bit of Sloan Pop-Jets thrown in for good measure, and general early-morning charm. All ages are invited, so no need to pretend you're cool and leave the kids at home.

Once the music winds down, you can stake out some turf on the Gallagher Way greenspace with a blanket because starting at 11 a.m., there's a kid-friendly movie showing on the big screen. Perfect for wrangling little attention spans and avoiding that "Are we done yet?" chorus.
